Murrhee Road over Little St. Mary's River
- This project included an evaluation of the existing bridge for replacement or repair. Due to the age of the bridge, and the timber piling, replacement was the only option.
- The bridge was constructed on a horizontal curve, however, in order to minimize costs, the structure was constructed as a rectangle and the curve was striped onto the deck. While this required a slight more concrete deck, the ease of construction more than offset the cost of curved layout and formwork.
- This bridge was constructed over water and met FDOT requirements. While it was not the only access to a number of residences, the only available detour route was approximately 20 miles further, so access was maintained through the entire construction process by phasing of the bridge elements.
