Terminal Parking Lot Expansion Program
Gainesville Regional Airport, Gainesville, FL
Cost $944K
Project Description
The current Gainesville Airport Public Terminal is served by surface parking lots with two separate entrances on the eastern and western segments of the Entrance Loop Road. The need for overflow parking was increasing, which was the impetus to add more paved parking. Three areas were identified where the existing lots could be expanded: the existing grass area, a strip of grass along the westernmost long-term spaces, and a grass area bordered by the southeastern long-term spaces.
Project Highlights
- Analyzed Short-Term and Long-Term parking utilization
- Prepared stormwater and drainage, geometry, paving and grading, signing and marking, utility adjustments, and electrical and lighting plans and specifications

- Replacement of unpaved overflow parking adjacent to the northwest paved parking area resulting in a net increase in 87 standard paved parking spaces and 3 handicap spaces
