Airfield Lighting

Airfield lighting systems are critical for ensuring safe and efficient aircraft operations, particularly in low-visibility conditions. At AVCON, our team ensures that these systems are designed to their highest standards. These systems include runway, taxiway, approach, and obstruction lights, each designed to guide pilots during takeoff, landing, and ground movements. Standardized color-coding and advanced features like precision approach path indicators (PAPIs) enhance operational safety and streamline airfield management.

Mark Goodacre, ACE

Airfield Lighting Design Manager

Mark Goodacre, ACE has more than 40 years of experience in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems and airfield lighting systems. He is an AAAE Airport Certified Employee (ACE) in the field of Airfield Lighting Maintenance, and he serves as an instructor for the Florida Airports Council’s (FAC) Basic Airfield Electrical Safety Workshop. He has experience preparing design documentation for an airfield’s lighting layout and circuitry for all associated Runways, Taxiways and Parking Aprons. Additionally, he has special expertise in 3D modeling. Mark’s extensive airfield lighting and NAVAID experience includes work at VQQ, MCO, SFB, Patrick Air Force Base, and AVL.

Terminals and Hangars

AVCON specializes in the design and development of airplane hangars and airport terminals, ensuring facilities are optimized for both operational efficiency and safety. Our hangars provide a controlled environment for routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs. Scalable to accommodate aircraft of all sizes, from private jets to commercial airliners, AVCON’s hangars play a crucial role in minimizing downtime and safeguarding valuable assets.

In addition, AVCON designs modern airport terminals that serve as the primary passenger interface, enhancing the traveler experience with efficient check-in, security screening, and boarding processes. These terminals are equipped with advanced technology and infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations while meeting regulatory standards. Together, AVCON’s hangars and terminals form essential components of airport facilities, supporting both aircraft and passenger operations.
